Stéphanie BERLAND had the honor to be invited by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Mena to the conference, co-organized with the Center For Effective Dispute Resolution Services (CEDRS) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), on 31 May 2023 in Abu Dhabi, to discuss of the development of mediation and ADR tools in resolving disputes.

Along with other esteemed panelists – institutional representatives, in-house counsels, and practitioners – she shared views on the use of mediation in resolving emerging types of disputes in the fields of intellectual property and technology law on the era of the 4th industrial revolution, as the emergence of artificial intelligence is disrupting IP law foundations. Based on her experience in matters she is involved in, she had the opportunity to highlight the development of mediation in solving disputes in relation with copyright and trademarks, as well as more specifically in the film industry and technology sector, where common undergoing work developments – be it a film or a tech project – speak for this alternative approach.
