Stéphanie Berland, Partner and Head of IP-IT / Data & Media Department at Steering Legal, was invited to talk at the International Screen Institute “Business and Legal Affairs 2023” course in Vienna, attended by film and audiovisual industry executives to deepen their knowledge of legal issues of the sector.

Stéphanie spoke on contracts and legal issues in the development phase, with the “Acquisition of rights on original scripts and existing literary works” and the “Negotiation of underlying works“ in view of producing a film or TV series project. This presentation was part of 5-day course organized by the Screen Institute, a non-profit organization providing top value legal training for European and international film and TV creatives and executives.

The course included participants and speakers from 13 European jurisdictions, and aims to give practical knowledge, confidence and understanding of the various business and legal aspects of film and TV contracts and their negotiation. It has been funded by the “Creative Europe MEDIA” Sub-program of the European Union.
